Headline Overall Participation Statistics

How many people have taken part in Aimhigher activities in the Southwest over the last seven years?

2003 / 2004 = 34,000 participants;            2004 / 2005 = 69,000 participants;

2005 / 2006 = 83,000 participants;            2006 / 2007 = 76,000 participants;

2007 / 2008 = 72,000 participants;            2008 / 2009 = 83,000 participants.

That's a total of 417,000 participants between 2003 and 2009! For more highlights, see the press releases.

Aimhigher Roadshows

National Progress and Evaluation Measures

Department for Children, Schools and Families (DCSF) School and college achievement and attainment tables (formerly performance tables) 2004 to 2010.

UCAS Media release: Final figures for 2007 entry – 5.8% rise in accepted applicants. The number of full-time students accepted on to undergraduate courses starting in 2007 rose by 5.8% according to end of year data released by UCAS. 22,540 more students were accepted in 2007, taking the total from 390,890 in 2006 to 413,430. The overall number applying was up by 5.6% from 506,304 in 2006 to 534,495 in 2007. These headline figures break the previous records for the number of students applying and being accepted which were set in 2005.
