Student Ambassador Profiles 2008
Student Ambassador Jane Matthews
I like:
Dining out, Reading, listening to music, Socialising.
I loathe:
Spiders, Dark nights, Buses – when you have to change to get to your destination.
Things I like to do:
Socialising, meeting new people, Cooking (when I’m in the mood), Reading, Kayaking, Card Making.
Why I am a Student Ambassador:
It’s a job that works around university study. To socialise and meet people;work with young people, encourage them to come to university.
What I’m looking forward to at the Summer School:
Having a fun week, participating in the activities. To work with a group of young people.
How did I get to where I am now and what I’d like to do in the future:
I originally enrolled to be a nurse when I left school, but was injured; after having a family and being self employed for 10 years, I decided I still wanted to be a nurse. I went to college and took a course ‘Foundation Health Professions’ to obtain the qualifications I needed to enter university and now: Here I am as a 1st year student children’s nurse. Looking forward to qualifying in 2010.
